Richard Mattera, CEO and founder of M-Cor Inc., brings over 38 years of hands-on experience in the sealing industry. As a journeyman tool and die expert with formal training in electrical engineering and software development, he has uniquely positioned M-Cor at the forefront of high-performance sealing innovation.

His deep technical background, paired with a forward-thinking approach, has enabled him to develop proprietary manufacturing systems that blend precision craftsmanship with intelligent automation. Under his leadership, M-Cor has grown from a modest start-up into a trusted U.S. manufacturer serving critical industries worldwide.

Richard’s core contributions and responsibilities include:

• Engineering Leadership & Process Innovation
  He has designed and implemented advanced production workflows that combine CNC machining, robotic vision systems, and automated metrology. These innovations have dramatically improved quality, traceability, and turnaround time across M-Cor’s product lines.

• Technology Development & Automation Strategy
  With fluency in multiple programming languages and a deep understanding of control systems, Richard has spearheaded the integration of digital automation and machine learning into M-Cor’s core manufacturing processes—enhancing consistency, reducing waste, and enabling real-time data capture.

Vice President – Yvonne Mattera
Yvonne Mattera, newly appointed Vice President of M-Cor Inc., has been an integral part of the company since its founding in 1987. With the exception of time taken to raise her family, she has consistently contributed to M-Cor’s growth and organizational strength. Her decades of experience span key operational areas that directly support the company’s leadership and vision.

Her core areas of expertise include:

• Employee Relations & Conflict Resolution
  Yvonne brings deep experience in fostering a healthy workplace culture. She has effectively mediated internal disputes, implemented fair policies, and championed open communication to maintain high employee morale and productivity.

• Customer Relations & Client Retention
  Known for her personable and diplomatic communication style, Yvonne has strengthened M-Cor’s customer relationships through responsive support, issue resolution, and long-term trust-building—contributing to our outstanding customer retention record.

• Human Resources Oversight
  From recruitment to compliance, she has overseen HR functions with a balanced approach rooted in legal awareness and empathy. She ensures the company’s HR practices remain current, ethical, and aligned with state and federal labor laws.

• Industry Compliance & Regulatory Affairs
  Yvonne helps ensure M-Cor remains compliant with evolving industry standards—such as FDA, USP Class VI, and ISO frameworks—by regularly auditing internal practices and coordinating with legal or certifying bodies when needed.

• Contract Review & Negotiation Support
  Leveraging her organizational knowledge and attention to detail, she plays a key advisory role in contract evaluation. Her consulting input has contributed to favorable outcomes in supplier, distributor, and customer agreements.

Corporate Secretary & Administrator – Nicole Rogge

Nicole Rogge has been an essential part of M-Cor’s success since the early 1990s. With more than three decades of dedicated service, Nicole’s deep institutional knowledge and hands-on experience make her the operational backbone of the company.

As Corporate Secretary and Administrator to the CEO, Nicole ensures the seamless coordination of executive functions while maintaining oversight of day-to-day operations. Her unparalleled familiarity with M-Cor’s internal systems, personnel, and customer needs has earned her the informal title: “the one with her thumb on the pulse of M-Cor.”

Her key areas of responsibility include:

• Administrative Support to the CEO
  Nicole manages executive correspondence, internal coordination, and strategic scheduling—ensuring the CEO remains informed, organized, and supported in critical decisions and daily leadership.

• Corporate Governance & Secretary Duties
  As M-Cor’s Corporate Secretary, she maintains official records, prepares and archives corporate documents, and supports the execution of contracts and board-level communications with precision and discretion.

• Manufacturing & Systems Administration
  Nicole has played a leading role in developing and maintaining manufacturing system workflows and internal databases. Her knowledge of M-Cor’s digital infrastructure supports traceability, inventory management, and streamlined production.

• Payroll & Operational Management
  She oversees payroll administration and ensures compliance with labor policies, supporting both staff welfare and operational consistency. Her work touches every department, bridging technical processes with human needs.

• Customer Service & Client Support
  Nicole is often the first point of contact for customers and partners, offering responsive, knowledgeable support. Her ability to anticipate issues and provide practical solutions reinforces M-Cor’s reputation for reliability and excellence.

Eulogy for My Brother

Richard J. Mattera, Chief Executive Officer, M‑Cor Inc.

On August 31, 2022, we lost a critical member of our team and my beloved brother, Ray Mattera. Since our founding in 1987—three brothers working out of a 500‑square‑foot space—Rick, Ray, and Larry,  poured our hearts into building M‑Cor Inc. through sheer hard work, tenacity, and persistence. Together, we grew from that tiny workshop into a leading force in the specialty sealing industry.

Ray was more than a co‑founder—he was the engine that kept us moving forward. Ray was the best of us,  as our accountant, he balanced the books with the same care he showed in life; as our programmer, he made sure our systems ran smoothly; and as a lifelong drummer, he kept rhythm both on stage and in our day‑to‑day hustle.

I / we think of him every day:

• His dedication. He never counted the hours, he challenged us all to work with integrity and passion
• His kindness. He greeted everyone—coworkers, customers, and vendors alike—with a warm word and genuine concern.
• His humor. His quick, comical wit could light up the room, even on our toughest days.
• His compassion. He adored his pets and cared for them like family, teaching us all what it means to love unconditionally.

My earliest memories of Ray stretch back to our childhood adventures—and those same qualities shone through as we built this company together. Today, I carry with me a lifetime of memories: collecting baseball cards, comic books; whiffle ball in the “empty lot”, being avid Chicago Cub’s fans; especially in 1969 and his drumming expertise “We’re an American Band” and many more.

Ray’s legacy lives on in every O‑ring we mold, every gasket we test, and every customer we serve. We will honor him by continuing the work he helped start and upholding the values he embodied.

He is deeply missed, but never forgotten.
